We have started an "AIB Bonn Vlog" series taking you around our favorite spots in the city. Check them out here.
We want to update you on the current situation in Bonn in the context of the Corona Pandemic and Covid-19 cases in our city. There are good news we can share.
Slowly, public life is returning to Bonn. Please see impressions from a beautiful May afternoon in our most recent video here.
People begin to enjoy the outdoors again, while following the rules and regulations put in place for social distancing, the wearing of face masks and range of contacts per person. Schools, daycare centers, public open-air pools and museums will reopen soon, contactless sports are permitted again.
The COVID-19 statistics for the city of Bonn allow for optimism: “Since 29 February 2020, a total of 729 people have tested positive for Covid-19 (as of Friday, 29 May). Eight people have died as a result of the coronavirus infection, 686 people have recovered and 18 have become acutely ill. In the past seven days, 26 new infections have been registered in Bonn; this corresponds to 7.88 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.” (https://www.bonn.de/microsite/en/services/medical-care/Corona.php)
All of us at AIB are hopeful to resume activities at our facilities again – in adjusted formats – in the fall of 2020. Together with our partners, we are working on program formats and configurations that prioritize student safety, balanced with a carefully designed education abroad experience.
