Sustainability in Academic Practice

The Sustainable Communities Program is a 5-week program focusing on studying existing sustainable communities and methods communities can use to create sustainable infrastructure. Students will learn from professionals who are actively engaged in sustainable energy and resource development.

The Arts & Ecology course is a unique course that integrates visual arts with ecology. Using their creativity, students will create individual and collaborative works of art that interact with, integrate, and respond to a relevant environmental issue. Field trips with naturalists, biologists and other artists will supplement the classroom discussions.

The Building Global Career Competences course is one of our many business courses. In this course, students are able to engage in hands-on learning by working in an international business environment. Usually, students or student teams work directly with a local profit or non-profit organization to complete a challenging consulting project.

Internships AIB has an internship program that arranges for internships in professional fields ranging from business, liberal arts, engineering and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Here’s a letter of our student Jozie, describing her experience working as an intern for the Netzwerk Friedenskooperative (German Peace Movement) in Bonn.
